Web Wanderings #5

Over 30s style

The natural and digital world are both a big part of my thirty-something life. So in praise of the internet, here’s some more of my web wanderings (a new-ish series on the blog), including tips, resources and light-bulb moments, that I’ve discovered online lately.

On Social: I’m joining in with Susannah Conway’s community project A Month of Mindfulness on Instagram.

Everyone seems to be taking Instagram so seriously nowadays, and for a while now I’ve wondered why I haven’t been as bothered. This project has given me the final push to care less about what I put ‘out there’, as long as I enjoy the photographs that I put up upon the gram. You can still take part, simply visit Susannah’s Instagram here. Freedom!

Recipes: Feeling down about our rainy summer? Make it better with Nigella’s Strawberry and Almond Crumble. The perfect dreary summer combo!

Article must-read: I love the Creative Independent website but this interview on How to Cultivate Focus and Develop a Good Bullshit Detector with Author Lillian Li hit the spot for me. So many tips on time management, navigating distractions, and juggling jobs whilst being a writer. A must-read!

Petition: Please sign this petition to help Ban Driven Grouse Shooting. At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament.

Blog post shout-out: I’ve been trying to get the house in order lately; partly as distraction from life stuff and partly to help future Lisa. I know it always gets worse before it gets better so I’m keeping this blog post by Hannah Bullivant bookmarked: 10 Surprising Things That Happened When I Decluttered My House.

Outfit details: Culottes, T-shirt and Vans c/o Fashionworld | Bag via M&S (old)

Shops (feat. gifted items): This month’s Web Wanderings outfit is the perfect transitional clobber! This summer I’ve been living in my trusty go-to’s: jumpsuits, culottes and striped tees. A massive thank you to Fashionworld for kitting me out with these seasonal classics. I can’t believe they’ll be taking me into autumn soon!

Blog series: Boo & Maddie launched a series called Being Childfree on her blog earlier in the year. As someone who chooses to be childfree, it’s so refreshing to hear relatable stories like this. Bravo to Lins for starting this series! I will be telling my story on Boo & Maddie when I get round to it. But in the meantime, I’d urge everyone to read the stories, and her blog, here.
