I’m Lisa, in my early forties, and I live with Ste and our dog Polly in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire. This blog, once called Mathilde heart Manech, is a space to share my allotment and campervan adventures, with a little Yorkshire lifestyle thrown in. It’s also a place to plan our future slow living aspirations –  to own our own bit of land, keep animals and grow our own food.  Thank you for popping by.

    Hi

    could you give any tips on starting up a blog especially technical side – where did you look for help? I’m just starting out but feel bewildered as to where to start.

      Hi Helen!

      Starting out is basically a learning game but worthit in the long run. I used wordpress.com so I didn’t need to work out much technically apart from making a banner for my site (Use free online photo editing platforms like Pic Monkey). I then moved to a self hosted blog 3 years later, once I knew blogging was for me.

      Google is your friend, there are so many tutorials out there. Join twitter and read hashtags #lbloggers (lifestyle blogger) #fbloggers (fashion bloggers) etc for insider tips. You’ll also find some great blogs along the way, which might inspire you to carve out your blogging niche.

      Bonjour Blogger is a good website for advice.

        I love your blog. Can you tell me which camera you use? I’m just a beginner and want to attend a photography class and you need an SLR camera. Some of them are soooooo expensive. Can you recommend any? Your photos are fantastic.
