Lately: Lighthouse Parka Jacket, Pumpkins and Autumn Details

I think the last time we had a catch up I was having a good old moan about feeling under the weather. Sorry about that. I know it was only flu but sometimes we all need to vent and for the last 2 weeks boy have I felt sorry for myself. I’m feeling much better now and have even kicked a few leaves around this week with a smile on my face. All I have to share with you today is photographs of our walks in the countryside, alongside all the things that have been making me smile lately but that’s a good start. No more whining, I promise.

Picking up a pumpkin and researching recipes.

 Reading The Goldfinch

Ordering my first Disaronno and coke

Discovering new places on our doorstep after living in Hebden for 7 years.

Having a hot (ish) shower. The boiler is poorly but today it is working and I’m very thankful for that. It felt AMAZING.

My new winter coat c/0 Lighthouse. This is the Reva Parka Coat in plum which you’ll see me in none stop until March. I’ve collaborated with the brand previously (see that post here) so I know that this waterproof coat will last, they are a great brand. Lighthouse have a great selection of all-weather friendly jackets and rain coats in a variety of colours to cheer up your A/W wardrobe.

The Reva is practical for winter walks with the pup and includes a cosy shearling lining, pockets galore (inside too), and stylish plum, yellow and navy detailing. The plum colour is ideal for cheering up early morning walks and it has a generous hood to hide away from the rain. I’ll see how I get on with it as the weather gets colder and share more on the blog.

An invite to the Anthropologie launch party in Leeds. I’m looking forward to catching up with friends, and perusing the stores treasures. Great news for Leeds!

Talking Roller Derby with my skating buddies on a road trip to Grimsby. It’s been a year since I first donned skates and although I’m always being told that the best skaters take longer to pass their minimum skills (I think folk are just being kind) I really, really want to pass this time. My next minimum skills test is booked for December and I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself as last time I was in tears on the train when I didn’t pass, like a complete drama queen. No one needs to see that. This time, I just want to be prepared. So I’ll be running my legs off in the meantime, and practicing with the team until then. Wish me luck!

Just hanging out in the great outdoors with my two favourites, the OH and Polly. It’s these simple things that I look forward to. As long as there is a pub en route and I’m allowed to stop to take all the photos then I’m happy.

Searching for colour on my daily dog walks. I’ve tried to take note of the remaining flowers out there before they disappear entirely. Autumn will come and go in a flash too so I’m soaking it all up!

Going to the newly reopened Squeeze cafe in Hebden Bridge. Its walls are donned in red brick and the high ceiling is draped with pendant lights; my kinda space and great food and coffee too.

Coming downstairs to the smell of last night’s fire.

Buying an End of the Road Festival tote bag as a souvenir to one of the best festival’s I’ve ever been to. It has a Sonic Youth inspired illustration on it and I LOVE IT.

Drinking hot chocolate and eating Parkin on my afternoon break.

Taking a delivery of bathroom tiles from Tile Mountain. Our bathroom makeover begins soon!
