I’ve wanted a campervan ever since I can remember. But not having a driving licence (that might come in useful), and the funds to buy and run one have put things on hold, year after year.

I’ve been seizure free for a long time now so I am able to drive but I’d much prefer to take driving lessons with someone I know first before I attempt to get behind a wheel. Hello OH!

Then there’s the cost. The van was put on hold after we bought our first house. Then again when we got Polly but now it’s time to start saving. We even thought about sharing a van with family which might still happen but the dream is to eventually own our own.

I’ve probably watched too many roadtrip movies but there’s no better sense of freedom than hitting the road with a few belongings and a map for your only guide. I get ridiculously excited about the thought of filling our van with summer gear and heading to a remote beach and sleeping under the stars, with Polly by our side.

Now we have our home and pooch, and no holidays planned for the near future, a campervan is next on our happy list; I just need to work out how we’re going to save up. Yeah, that small thing.

Going on a campervan adventure soon? Here’s some summer-inspired road trip/camping goodies (above and below) from HomeSense.
