Wardrobe Details: Fenn Wright Manson, New Look and Lotus Shoes

My relationship with clothing has changed dramatically over the years. When I lived in Leeds I would stop by my favourite clothes shops frequently, on route to Jumbo Records, and end up picking up two or three items of clothing that I would wear once or twice, and then forget about. You know how that goes.

Nowadays when I buy clothing I really have to LOVE it. It has to be something that makes me feel great, that I will get constant wear out of, again and again; even if the price tag is higher. That’s why I have a super happy relationship with high-waisted jeans, colourful dresses, crop trousers, Breton tops, denim jackets and dungarees. Oh, and brogues, loafers and ballet pumps of course!

But of course trends do pop up on my radar (I’m in a jumpsuit-quandary at the moment) and my eyes begin to wander. Lately I’ve been coveting shirt dresses and my friends over at Fenn Wright Manson kindly sent me this delicious dress for me to try (and fall in love with).

Sheer sleeves, silk trim fabric and pockets (hurrah!) make this dress a new wardrobe favourite, and because it’s a really versatile piece I’ll get lots of outfits out of it too.

Here I’m wearing it as a jacket alternative for lazy sunny evening jaunts, transforming a casual outfit into something smarter for the evening. To finish it off, I teamed the shirt dress, jeans and top with my white loafers and black tote bag to give it a fresh and modern feel, perfect for weekend pottering. How many days till the Bank Holiday?!
