Hebden Bridge

Meet the latest addition to our home, a bespoke terrarium by Isobel Cortese (Verdantica). I bought this from Heart Gallery as a gift for the OH, and to say thank you for all his support and encouragement. It was also a reminder that he needs to take some photographs soon for an outfit post coming up on the blog – ha! Isn’t it beautiful?

It’s a living world in there, so we need to take extra good care of it (it needs rain water!) but that’s what makes the terrarium so special. Sometimes I look at it and think I have the OH trapped in a vintage bottle!

julia ogden

My super talented friend and all inspiring Julia Ogden has been running art and craft workshops in Hebden Bridge over the past few months. I’m very excited to announce she is running Christmas workshops (book here) from next weekend, making your own Christmas cards, wrap and decorations. I can’t wait for the Christmas wrap workshop in December!

Now I might be a tad biased but I can’t stress enough how awesome a night at the movies is, and how relatively cheap it is too (well, if you go independent).

This is the beautiful cinema I work for in Hebden Bridge, and tonight we’re watching the cult classic, Withnail and I. Popcorn, friends, and Uncle Monty. Bliss.

10 Tips on Working from Home – a really useful post from Cupcakes and Cashmere on the joys/perils of freelance life. I’ve taken lots of notes!

A useful article from Most Wanted blog on the last postal dates for Christmas.

Bill Cunningham New York

Via Zeitgeist Films

I LOVE this film. Bill Cunningham New York is a wonderful and moving account of the humble yet iconic New York Times Photographer, Bill Cunningham. I urge you to watch this marvelous gem of a movie by Richard Press. He’s been added to my ‘who I would invite to dinner list, dead or alive.’ It’s currently available on Netflix or you can buy the DVD now.

Happy Sunday!
