At Home: WW9000 Ecobubble Washing Machine Part 2

Samsung ww9000

The Samsung WW9000 Ecobubble washing machine is the coolest thing we own. I’m not entirely sure what that says about us, maybe we should get out more, I’ll have to think about that. It’s that cool I’ve lured friends to the cellar (cue horror music) just to show them our smarty pants wonder, and jumped around with glee when the drum light comes on (it’s very special).

Since my last review I’ve tried many functions (and functions within functions) and I can safely say it’s awesome. For the first month we primarily used the Auto Optimal Wash option which uses four separate sensing technologies to measure the size of the load, detect the amount of dirt to automatically select a cycle and then dispenses the right amount of water and detergent. As I’ve used this function a lot it automatically saves our preferences ready for you to select straight away. Nifty!

Other functions I’ve tried are bedding, super eco wash, cooking and dining, delicates, working and everyday.  For people with big families there are really useful functions too including child lock, active kids, active sports and baby care.

Being so technically advanced could seem daunting but the touch screen panel is very easy to navigate. I’ve used far more functions than my previous dial button machine primarily because it is so user-friendly. I’m hoping, in the long run, this will help make our clothing last that little bit longer.

Then came the smart control. In my previous review, I wasn’t particularly excited about this option. Then I synced up the machine to my phone and everything changed. Oh my. Firstly, we live in a world where we can control our home appliances by our mobile device?! Let’s stop and think about that for a second. Crazy stuff.

With this function, I can start, pause and check the time remaining on the wash cycle; particularly handy when I’m up in the office and have lots of washing to do. I’m also able to operate it whilst out of the house. So, when I’m due to come home I can start the machine and arrive home to clean clothes ready to pop in the tumble dryer.

The unobtrusive and minimal design really is something special and let’s face it if you’re going to use something everyday then it might as well be stylish too. The machine is of course an investment at £1700, but if you have a big family (with different washing needs), and you live in a modern home, this smart machine might just be ideal.

Samsung features in detail:

Full Touch LCD Screen
A large 5”, full touch colour LCD screen lets you select the type of garment, water temperature, spin speed and type of detergent, with the touch of your finger.

Smart Control
Smart Control lets you remotely control and monitor your Samsung washing machine using an App* on your smartphone. From anywhere inside or outside the house where there’s a wireless network, you can instantly start or pause it and keep an eye on cycle selections, remaining time and finishing alerts when the cycle is complete. *Wireless network required. Available for iPhones and Android devices

Super Speed Wash
A twin water supply speeds up filling and shortens rinsing times by using a Speed Spray to shoot powerful jets of water at your clothes. As a result, it can complete up to 5kg of washing in just 60 minutes.

Digital Inverter Motor
The Digital Inverter Motor delivers superior energy efficiency, minimal noise and long-lasting performance backed-up by a 10 year motor warranty.

Eco Check
Eco Check lets you manage how much electricity and water you use in each wash. Before starting a program, you can request a forecast of expected energy and water consumption, so you can choose the most efficient and eco-friendly performance.

Laundry/utility room inspiration

To sum up, I love it. My favourite features include the blue crystal door (because I’m lame like that), the touch screen display, smart control and automatic dispensing function (for practicality) and the variety of smart functions available for different lifestyles. Now I just need a beautiful laundry/utility room to do it justice. Again, another sign I need to get a life!

Disclosure: I was sent the Samsung WW9000 Ecobubble Washing Machine for review purposes.
