A Happy Home: Guest Room Inspiration
After moving out of a shared house (where me and the Mister met) we upped sticks to our first home together in Leeds. It was a big change from living with five people to suddenly having a large top floor apartment with a guest room all to ourselves. Naturally, this room became a dumping ground for all of the stuff; piles of washing, text books (never to be read again) and a large stuffed toy tiger…yup, you read that right!
Now, we’re in a completely different home in a far better location but lately I’m missing that extra space. Not a room to dump all the stuff (the tiger is no longer with us) but a place where I can have my university friends and niece and nephew over to stay.
A room with personality coupled with investment pieces; a well made and comfortable sofa bed, contemporary and bold textiles, bright accessories, and a stylish print or two. Cue the contenders!
Sofa Bed , Willow & Hall // It’s a Wonderful Life Poster, Ebay // Mabel and Bird Cushion, Southwood Stores // Scented Candle, Oliver Bonas // Eivor Throw, Ikea // Lula Yellow Metal Table Lamp, Habitat
Willow & Hall is the happy home of the hand crafted Appley 2 Seater Sofa in vintage blue that you see above; a classic, contemporary investment piece made by the independent sofa and sofa bed company. Thanks to this beauty, I’ve been pondering guest room ideas ever since.
Partnered with yellow accessories, monochrome textiles and a print bursting with personality (I bought a huge version of this It’s a Wonderful Life print for our bedroom recently – love it!) – this is the type of room I can’t wait for friends and family to relax in one day!
Do you like my guest room picks?
P.S Big news! For regular readers of my blog, my bedside table is now a happy reading space! I will take some pictures ASAP. Ground breaking stuff, my friends.

I have a yellow armchair that I bought from eBay when I was drunk once and it’s honestly the best thing I’ve ever found online. I’m know obsessed with yellow accessories and like you, I want to start pairing it with grey as they look gorgeous together!

Don’t they? Quite classic too so hopefully won’t date. x

Love mustard and blue/grey!

I love this as an idea. Our guest rooms works well as both a guest room and a dumping ground for clean laundry (I contest it makes the room smell nice) and that sofa bed is gorgeous. One day…
