My Impossible Wish List

The beauty of writing a wish list like this or this is that I can actually make it happen. I can buy the perfect pair of brogues, a leather satchel or a new throw for my favourite armchair; these wishes are all possible (when funds permit). I can go travelling, I can change my career, and make a family, made up of pets, friends or children if I fancy. Yes, albeit a little more slowly, but they are achievable. I can do all these things. As can you.

In other instances, there are wishes that will never come true. There are people, circumstances and places that you cannot control. So my friends, in case someone is listening, these are my three impossible wishes.

  • I wish my Mum would smile again. She has been suffering for over a year now (I don’t want to go into it really, I’m sure you understand) and she simply isn’t her bubbly self. It’s hard to see my Mum like this and heartbreaking knowing I can’t make it all better but I trust, and wish, that it will.
  • I wish I could move Hebden Bridge to the seaside. I say this time and time again but it still hasn’t happened. Why is no one listening to me?! I adore the town we live in. Every time I return home to Hebden Bridge after a break or holiday, I feel happy knowing it is my home. But because I want it all, I also wish it was near to the coast. We’ve not got wheels yet (life happened) so the sea feels like a distant memory. Wah (stomps feet).
  • I wish time wasn’t so fleeting. I cannot believe how quickly this year has flown. Another year and so many things yet to accomplish, to witness and to share. All I can do with this wish is live it like I love it, with my family and friends by my side (and online!).

What are your three impossible wishes?

P.S Normal I WANT PRETTY THINGS wish list posts will resume shortly…
