Hebden Bridge

Heptonstall.

It has been a lovely weekend made up of indoor/outdoor fun. Saturday included town pottering; buying birthday presents, raiding charity shops and replenishing my energy with a latte and tuna salad sandwich. At home, I gazed at ‘Farewell’ flowers received from my old work place, eating tasty sticky toffee pudding and full English breakfasts, tidying my craft table and designing my Christmas cards, watching Zombieland, The Tree of Life, Thor (don’t bother), Drive (brilliant), Red State and Watership Down– yes, we watch a lot of films (and are night owls)! Sunday was spent walking to  Heptonstall (the long way round!). We found Sylvia Plath’s grave and sat with a flask of  mulled wine as we watched fellow admirers pay their respects. Then we toddled back down the hill and settled in for the evening. I had chocolate coins to amuse me. And a blanket.

That sounds like an idyllic weekend. We really want to see Tree of Life so maybe we will get it to watch one weekend (if we get a free weekend). Lovely pictures too.

Oh wow I didn’t realise that’s where Sylvia Plath’s grave was (another place I should’ve visited whwn i lived in Holmfirth). If only I’d known you back then (sigh). I would like to put a biro down in respect one day!
