    Lately: Weekend Walks and Home

On Sunday afternoon we chose to grab some fresh air and explore the public footpaths near our new home. We both seem to be working our asses off lately so having the chance to have a few hours off, with no plan, felt great – and on our doorstep too. When we returned from our little ramble we managed to have some quiet moments at home, and a hot chocolate too (with marshmallows). Now I can’t complain can I? Reading, painting nails…

Lately: Doughnuts, Little People and Wax Flowers

Wax flowers. Aren’t they beautiful? Usually native to Western Australia, I happened to come across them in our local florist. If you rub the stem it smells similar to rosemary but with a hint of citrus. Paper straws to make drinking water a bit more fun (and it goes down quicker) The little people in my life (his sister was cosy in her pram). Being an Aunt is rather splendid. Our joint anniversary gift to each other (6 years!) for…

Lately: Cashmere, Fairy Cakes and Sniffles

Going on a New Year mini break to Bamburgh was definitely what I needed to blow away 2013 cobwebs. It’s a wonder how 3 days spent doing nowt much can make you feel like yourself all over again. Early morning walks, baking, writing, and learning calligraphy; these are all making Lisa a…

Lately: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I haven’t done a proper catch up post for a while so I thought I’d empty my memory card on the camera and browse through my phone to remind myself of the last few weeks, with a cuppa and a mince pie of course. We were super excited to be looking after Buddy the Beagle a few weeks ago, with the intention of possible rehoming the little pup from a family member. Unfortunately as much as we enjoyed looking after…

    Lately: The Simple Things

The simple things I have been enjoying lately: picking my first daisy of the year, putting biscuits into my biscuit tin, bumble bees, feeling sunshine on my skin and lunch with friends. Cheese on toast, walking to work, our new digital radio, cappucinos and biscotti in bed, running through fields and opening nice post. Reading exciting emails, floral dresses, walking into a room scented with lilies, smelling books, and mugs of hot sweet tea. ♥ P.S If you fancy you…
