    Twelve Sustainable Gifts

Disclosure: Collaborative Post Keep Britain Tidy have an awesome campaign running this September called #SwapforGood encouraging people to reduce single-use plastics by making waste saving swaps. Earlier in the year I ditched using facial wipes completely, and I’m no longer using makeup remover pads (I have washable ones now). This has been an easy swap to build into my daily routine and I wish I started this new habit earlier. I already have tote bag(s), a reusable mug and…

    This Life: Looking Forward

Disclosure: Ad | Gifted items marked c/o in the post. Although it is a tad surreal that we’re in the final quarter of the year, I’m feeling ready for the next season to begin, come rain or shine. Summer was a bit of a blur for me personally, so I can’t wait to don my autumn ankle boots, wooly hat and walk into the new season, hot chocolate in hand. Just to get the crap stuff out of the way,…

The natural and digital world are both a big part of my thirty-something life. A Small Patio Diary: Learning to Garden

Gardening has become a big part of my day-to-day this summer so I want to share what I’m learning, the mistakes I’ve made and what I have planned for our tiny outdoor patio space!  If you’re new to it too, please follow along and share your gardening tips and tricks! Prior to this summer I confess to being a pretty crappy gardener. I’d visit the Garden Centre but would have no clue where to begin, apart from looking for plants…

    What I Learnt on Holiday

Disclosure: post features gifted items I’ve been to Western Australia three times now to visit family, and every time I come back a little bit more in love. Our family live roughly 200 miles south of Perth, in a gorgeous coastal town called Dunsborough. White sandy beaches, relaxed vibes, beautiful wildlife and great breweries and vineyards; I’ll take seconds, please. It feels like years since I curled my toes in the sand, but I’m so thankful that I get to…

    This Life: A Catch Up

Due to all sorts of adult tomfoolery, I’ve needed some time-out from the blog. Not because I wanted a digital break, or any of that jazz, but simply because I needed to focus on the basics: work, health and tackling the laundry pile. Keeping myself to myself, with support from those closest to me, has helped me cope with some crappy things lately. In short, things are getting pretty heavy with regards to my dad’s health, and my mum caring for…

The Treat Yo’ Self Ten #4

Disclosure: Collaborative Post Hello chums! There seems to be more homewares in this Treat Yo’ Self Ten list than usual which must mean it’s springtime. Every spring, you see, I have the urge to refresh and update corners of my home. Whether that’s decorating a room with plants (rather than paint), buying new bedding or enjoying a scented candle that smells of an English summer. I’d love to bring more natural products into our bedroom to make it feel lighter…

    Simple Things Jan/19

We made it through January, folks. Didn’t we do well? I think our survival deserves a large glass of whatever you fancy, and a long nap too. A+ effort, all round. In full disclosure though, I am that annoying person that enjoys the first month of the year (feel free to punch me in the face). I simply don’t mind the drab weather, plus I relish the quiet and calm after the frivolities of December (a month of not having…

    December 2018 Reflections

Best Day in 2018 Completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in 10 hours in July. I did the challenge in 2017 too, but this year I, alongside by sister and brother in law, hiked 26 miles and three peaks (mountains sound more impressive) on one of the hottest days in summer. AND I beat my previous year’s time by over an hour. I’m very proud of that, and the funds we raised for Alzheimer’s Society too. It was a brilliant…
