Back From My Blogging Break 

Hello chums. How are things? Enjoying the summer? Frustrated by the weather? Yeah, I feel ya. I thought I’d be back here within a week of taking a blog break but as always life happened (the house got sick), and I got used to, and enjoyed, not worrying about my little space on the internet. I really needed this break.

As soon as I made the decision to take time out I felt a huge weight had lifted, which gave me a heads-up that perhaps I wasn’t going to come back at all. But after 7 years of blogging, a week passed and my brain started to wander towards my blogging notebook; Mathilde heart Manech wasn’t going anywhere. Three weeks later (time flies when you download NOW TV and re watch ALL of the Game of Thrones series) I’m back…and my love for Jon Snow is eternal.

Before the break the blogging world felt quite overwhelming and intimidating at times too. I felt very small in this digital world we now live in, tired and my voice, trivial. I didn’t feel good enough or capable and my insecurities would materialise like notifications on my iPhone, constant, interrupting any train of logical thought.

A month later, I feel good. Better. Non-trivial. I’m still the same voice but I now know what I want to shout/sing/whisper about. Instead of creating completely new content and opting for a fancy new blog layout (although I will be tidying up the site in autumn) I’m keeping it simple; writing about my lifestyle. That’s the only way I’ll stand out from the internet. There’s only one me after all.
