A Week in Walks #6

Yorkshire Three Peaks

Hullo chums! How are we all today? Raring for the weekend? I’m not going to lie, I’m feeling very anxious whilst writing this blog post. My stomach is doing somersaults and my mind is whirling with panic. We’re doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge this weekend in support of Alzheimer’s Society and I’m suddenly feeling all the nerves. Will my legs carry me for 26 miles in 12 hours? Will my dodgy knee play ball? Will I make it to the final destination, the pub? Positive vibes needed please, positive vibes.

I’ll be putting updates on social media throughout the day (or at the end of the trek depending on signal) so cheer us on if you can – the support will help us I’m sure. We’re all anxious about it but very excited too. I’m even bringing my Lord of the Rings ring with me…if Frodo and  Sam can walk 1350 miles to Mt. Doom, we can walk for 12 hours. Yes, I’m aware I’m ridiculous.

Anyhoo, back to A Week in Walks, here’s some photos from our adventures in Hardcastle Crags recently. Notice how one day I’m paddling in the river in the sunshine and another day wearing all the waterproofs!

Cue the waterproofs! The awesome outdoors brand Blacks are collaborating with us for our challenge and kitted us out with outdoor clothing, which we’ve both been using for training as well. I feel like a proper adult wearing waterproof trousers but I feel stupid for not getting them sooner, especially having a dog! I’ve got them packed in my bag ready for any weather eventuality. Weather gods, be kind.

Finally, a massive thank you to anyone who has sponsored us, it really means the world and will spur us on till we reach the final summit. If you’d like to sponsor us, and support Alzheimer’s Society head to this Just Giving page. Go Team Murdoch!
