Good Vibes Only

uk lifestyle blog

I’m diving straight into the good and positive things that have happened over the past few weeks because there’s no words to even understand or comprehend the goings on this last week…good vibes only. Squeeze those loved ones tight and find your happy.

Manchester | Never have I been more proud of this northern city and its people. I’m so thankful that Hebden Bridge is only a short train ride away from it and I going to make sure we visit it more often this summer and enjoy every glorious thing about it. I urge you to do the same. P.S bloggers have you got your tickets for the NOW Blog Conference in September based in Manchester? I’ve yet to buy mine, just waiting on some extra pennies, but I’m definitely going and the lineup looks amazing!

New music |We’re going back to End of the Road Festival in September so I’ve been catching up on new music that I’d like to see there. I’ve really been enjoying New Zealand’s Aldous Harding – that voice!

Colourful clothes |I read my lovely friend’s blog post the other day about dressing dangerously and it really struck a cord. Check out Kathryn’s awesome pink suit here.

I mainly keep it simple wearing blacks, neutrals and a pop of colour here and there so I decided to cheer my week up with more colour featuring my gorgeous new shoes from Lotus. I don’t like standing out but I love these colours so much and I’m all for wearing clothes that add a touch of fun to your everyday.

I’ve worn the shoes already to a wedding last month and not once did I have to remove them whilst dancing, not once! After that I knew that I’d be able to get more wear out of them, I’m not saving these for special occasions – no siree! I’ve got my eyes on the navy ones too.

The rest of the outfit includes a knit from Zara (I have one in red and grey too!), and my Esprit lace bomber jacket that I’m a bit obsessed with this spring. It’s the perfect cover up in the evening.

Roller Derby firsts | I played my first Roller Derby scrim a few weeks ago against Hulls Angels Roller Derby. Even though it was a friendly, I was equal measures nervous and excited. I felt excited for days afterwards because it was so much fun and it was another thing ticked off my Roller Derby to-do list. We won by the way – hurrah!

Bank holiday adventures | I’m so excited for this weekend. We’ve booked off a few extra days so we can train for the Yorkshire Three Peaks, as well as having a day at the seaside and spending quality time doing the things we love; reading, watching films and seeing family. I’m going to tidy my office (if I write this down I have to do it!) and reward myself with a few new house plants too.

What are your plans for the bank holiday?

P.S What scares you outfit wise? Do you shy away from wearing bold colours?
