A Week in Walks #4

It feels so nice to sit down and catch up on the blog after a very busy working week/month. I have a brew next to me and everything!

I’ve realised lately that walking is actually a big part of my life, and always has been, having never driven a car. Walking with Polly is the favourite part of my day, and documenting it throughout photos and capturing the seasons is something I’m really enjoying. I mean, look at those Calder Valley views and that Golden Retriever face, you guys.

My only challenge at the moment is to add a few extra miles into my everyday walks to help with training for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge that we’re doing in July in support for Alzheimer’s Society, and on behalf of our dad who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year. Have you ever done the challenge? Any tips on training? I think on the day I’m simply going to pretend I’m a character from Lord of the Rings on our very own personal adventure (minus the Hobbit feet). Maybe we should all don wizard hats…

Anyhoo! I’m loving the seasonal changes I’m seeing in these photographs compared to the first few posts here, here and here – everything is coming into bloom and although we’re still experiencing all the rain, it’s actually quite warm; and therefore perfect weather for outdoor picnics. I can see lots of great feasts ahead of us this summer!

If you’d like to support our Tolkienesque adventure, I’d really appreciate any donations you can make to our Just Giving page. Thank you so much.
