Good Vibes featuring Simply Be

Outfit details at the bottom of the post

I’m writing this post on a south bound evening train to distract myself from falling asleep and missing my next connection, and of course to check in with you lovely readers. So when this goes to publish first thing in the morning, please ignore my tired typos and foggy brain! I have a M&S gin and tonic in a can to keep me company (living the dream), and a packet of reduced mini eggs (much better than Cadbury’s) so it ain’t all bad but boy am I tired. S-nooze.

So, to business. Here’s my good vibes list from the last couple of weeks.

Holidays I’m on holiday now for over a week or so. Shake those pom poms! We’re now in a routine of taking annual leave but not actually going on proper holiday and it suits us just fine. The OH really deserves a break, and sometimes a break ‘at home’ works wonders. We’ll be squeezing in a trip to Florence later in the year but for now we’re enjoying time spent at home exploring Yorkshire, as well as catching up with family from Australia and Europe. Look out for more A Week in Walks posts on the blog any day.

Straight cut jeans (for the win) I’ve discovered a new found love in my wardrobe, the straight cut jean. It’s a revelation. Just as the high waisted jean and the ankle grazer was, the straight cut is a great fit for my shape (and my size 14 thighs). Not only do these Simply Be jeans fit like a glove but I love the hem detail to help dress up an outfit when all you want to do is wear a pair of jeans. I’ve got some red court shoes that will look great with these but in today’s outfit post I’ve paired the jeans with flat shoes, and my khaki light jacket for a smart casual style.

Eating lunch outside From munching on lunch outside Leeds Art Gallery in the sunshine to eating tinfoil sandwiches (the best!) with a dog by my side during a lengthy weekend walk. I love taking time to eat lunch away from the computer screen and topping up on my vitamin D.

Small home projects We’ve had lots of little jobs around the home we’ve been putting off so the bank holiday saw us planting window boxes, sorting light fittings and ordering shelving – tiny jobs but really satisfying once done!

First bluebell sighting Seriously, these things make my day. Every single year I know they’re coming and they never fail to delight. I’m aware I sound like a country bumpkin weirdo right now.

90s dance music It’s the simple things. So when my buddy Julia came to ours for a night of pizza and the OH’s legendary cheese board it’s only natural that the music comes on and we sing and dance to our hearts content. My voice is still sore. Rhythm is a dancer…
