Home and Style Finds: Spring Picks

The daffodils are out, the clocks have sprung forward and my festival tickets have been booked. Spring is most definitely here chums.  With the arrival of a new season it’s the perfect time to organise and refresh the home with vibrant prints and fresh colours. The same goes for my wardrobe and although most of my clothes are transitional there’s a definite need to have a big tidy up before inviting any new additions to the party. I just need to prioritise my time to do it! Here’s what’s been on my spring radar of late…

From left to right:

A great way to update your transitional wardrobe for spring is by adding accessories. Go big with statement sunglasses (look at alternative shapes or tinted lenses) or simply add a touch of chic with these timeless Le Specs Sunglasses (£45) from Lorna Ruby.

I really love these Mid Pink Pinstripe Trousers (£24.99) from New Look but I have a feeling the colour will completely wash me out. So go and try them on for me will you? Pair with black or khaki green for a bold feminine look and I shall ‘ooh’ and ‘ah’ from afar…

I cannot even begin to tell you how many shelves, storage units and wall hooks I’ve researched in order to get the hallway, bathroom and office organised. I’m rubbish at making final interior decisions so often wait a little longer, hoping I’ll have a bigger budget too. The affordable Gold Metal Wall Storage Unit (£21.59) from Maisons du Monde would make a great addition to our small porch to house the dog walking bits and bobs and daily post.

Oh me, oh my. I’m just a tad excited to be adding these Marrakech Bellisa Silver Pattern Floor Tiles (£1.53 per tile) from Tile Mountain to our bathroom soon, alongside white metro wall tiles for the walls. I can’t wait to get started on the bathroom (we’re currently saving pennies for a professional tiler) and in the summer be able to walk on those tiles, close my eyes then pretend I’m in Morocco or somewhere fancy. More on the blog soon!

Another colour that is bound to wash me out (why do I even look?) but that I really love is this neutral Short Trenchcoat (£49.99) from H&M. A  classic addition for all spring wardrobes and worthy of a try-on next time I’m in H&M.

Made with waterproof paper and stitched by hand, how ingenious is this Scala Mini Paper Vase & Greetings Card (£10) from Unique & Unity; a memorable gift and card in one.

Pom pom anyone? Add bold bursts of colour to your home with this yellow Cushion (£16.99) from HomeSense with playful pom pom detailing. Yellow is great for adding bold contrast to a room and can brighten up any dark corners in an instant, ideal for the new season. Here comes the sun…

Spring is the perfect time to bring the outdoors in so why not take a trip to your local garden centre and treat your home to a new plant or two. I love hanging ceramic planters (this one is £33 from Object) as they are so versatile and can be hung on the walls, ceilings or windows to name a few; perfect for smaller homes where you might lack in surface or floor space.

I’m not sure when I began coveting baskets (of all varieties) but it’s been a good few years now. Use this Paper Basket (£12.99) from HomeSense as elegant storage throughout the home.

Trainers add an instant edge to an outfit and more importantly mean I prance around to my heart’s content in complete comfort – a gal can never have enough (or whatever a 37-year-old female is). I’m currently coveting these Nike Sneakers (£67) from & Other Stories. Available in pink too. You’re welcome.

The Tiers Storage Stand (£45) from Unique & Unity is a great minimal addition to any kitchen whether you’re entertaining this spring with cakes and finger sandwiches (erm, where’s my invite?) or perhaps an alternative home to store fruit. Stack those bananas high chums.

This washed pink shopper (£39) from Esprit is an affordable addition to any spring wardrobe a creating a more relaxed and spring feel (think weekend walks around the market or eating ice cream in the park*) to your outfits.

Stay inspired and pick up a travel guide for your 2017 adventures (keep it in your handbag for those wanderlust days). Try the Cereal Guide editions (£8) from Trouva.
