Wardrobe Details: Ilex London and Lotus

The first week of December has been full on. Christmas parties with friends, colleagues and family; house clear outs (there’s still so much to sort out – I’m losing the will), never-ending lists and a cough that just won’t budge. But it’s Christmas right? We all sign up to the chaos knowing full well it’s going to be manic until the moment we update our out of office email message. Oh what a happy day that will be!

I was saying only the other day how much I’m thankful to have a job that I love, but I’m not going to lie, I’m beyond excited to have two weeks off my everyday routine; just to walk, eat, read and enjoy the company of others. Oh and the naps, my friends. All those sweet, sweet naps.

With less than two weeks to go, I’m really conscious of how fast this month is whizzing by so I’m trying to be mindful of making time to enjoy the season, which sometimes mean stepping away from the chaos and the to do list. This weekend we made our way to the neighbouring village of Heptonstall for some respite from the glitter of the Christmas tree (who am I kidding – I LOVE our tree) and took some new winter accessories for a spin in the winter air.

It was one of those really mild days so I got my pasty pins out, if only to truly appreciate my COS glittery socks that bit more. The rest of the outfit was inspired by new Ilex London Olivia Tote Bag. Isn’t she a peach?! I like wearing black at the best of the times but breaking it up with rich khaki accents here and there can easily update a classic black outfit.

If you’re looking to add a little luxury to your bag collection the Olivia Tote made from their signature soft nappa leather is a classic and contemporary addition for your winter wardrobe; the rich military green is a versatile tone that complements neutral colours to add a utility chic feel.

For added *I want to feel special and not how I feel* vibes I wore these Suede Ankle Boots from Lotus. This brand makes the BEST ankle boots. I have 3 pairs now, and all styles have fit perfectly, lasted years and looked flattering on too. I don’t wear heels usually but the 5.5cm block heel is a solid base so they feel comfortable to wear and prance in. I especially love the contrasting decorative strap for added detail. I can’t recommend Lotus enough.

Admittedly, I’m a tad besotted with the black and khaki combo so no doubt you’ll see me prancing in this look for a while to come.

How’s your December going? Tell me your woes, and share the good stuff too in the comments below!
