Lately: Saltaire, Sunny Days & Kindness

Yorkshire BloggersWell, hello there. How are we all? Here’s what’s been making me smile lately:

Asters| I’ve never heard of these flowers before when I picked them up locally for £2 a bunch. I’ve dotted them around the house in small vases. Pretty, huh?

Instagram Stories| I love it. My Instagram followers are already there, it’s much more user-friendly than Snapchat and I can find people easily too. Catch me over there for daily videos and pics!

Indoor picnics| Because we really can’t rely on the weather but we can rely on picnic food. Mmm.

Honesty Box| Being able to pick up fresh eggs AND chocolate cake whilst walking Polly. Whoop!

Yorkshire BloggersYorkshire BloggersYorkshire BloggersFeatured! I’m in this month’s Simple Things Magazine – page 44 guys. Pick up the magazine and take a peek!

Walking adventures| We’ve been a tad skint lately (broken boiler – argh) so being able to have brilliant days out for free makes me very happy. As long as I have the OH, Polly, my camera and backpack of snacks. All is well.

Sunshine guaranteed| Apparently it’s going to be nice next week. I’m going to repaint my toe nails and everything!

Yorkshire BloggersYorkshire BloggersKindness |I haven’t talked much about my dad, and his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s because quite frankly, I’m still trying to process it. It’s the worst thing in the world seeing your parents in distress. It makes me sick to the stomach thinking about it but my overall emotion is anger. I’d love to punch Alzheimer’s in the face. Hard. Ahem.

No doubt, I’ll let it all out on the blog soon (now there’s an uplifting post to look forward to!) but things were a tad rough last week whilst we were sorting out financial stuff for the folks. We were all  dreading the meeting but I’ll never forget the kindness of my parents solicitor who made everything go smoothly last Thursday morning. His humour and attitude made the whole experience easy. Another reminder to always be your best. Be kind, be human. Smile.

Salts Mill | After the meeting I kinda needed a little respite so I popped to Salts Mill for an hour to smell the lilies, peruse the book shop and take in the Arrival of Spring exhibition…again. I can never have enough of that place.

What have you been up to lately?
