Lately: Monoprint Workshop, Haworth & Holiday

I’ve been feeling pretty run down and a bit poorly lately so I decided to book a week off work so I could catch up on life, sleep and Game of Thrones (OH MY DAYS, how good was the last episode?!).

The week so far has been a pretty sociable one. We went to see Money Monster at the cinema on Friday night, had a work outing in Leeds on Saturday at Fazenda’s, where meat lovers unite; followed by family time on Sunday. Then I popped to Haworth for a coffee and a catchup with a friend on Monday and I went to a monoprint workshop yesterday in Hebden Bridge. Happy times.

Julia runs a series of regular art workshops in Hebden Bridge, and this one was right up my street as it involved creating nature-inspired prints. The purpose of the workshop wasn’t to just create a finished piece (even though we did take home our completed work); it was just lovely spending a day in Julia’s sunny studio creating, chatting and trying new techniques that we could then try at home. I left relaxed, inspired and I think it’s time I bought some acrylic paint!

Haworth, as always, was a breath of fresh air. There weren’t many shops open (you really do need to check beforehand when visiting) but I did spot a new shop, Modo & Co, selling art and gifts, which had an open studio attached to the shop too. They also sell personalised gifts for the little ones in your life, and look at the blooms on offer too! I bought a mug…yup, another one.

Now I’ve settled into my week off I’m concentrating the rest of my time on blogging, writing and celebrating Polly’s first birthday. Can you believe she’s one?! Prepare yourself for a bombardment of Polly pics…

Happy Wednesday folks!
