At Home: Bank Holiday Weekend

Well that was a grand Bank Holiday and a lovely way to finish May before we approach the second half of the year. June…can you believe it?

We both had an extra day booked so we could enjoy a 4 day weekend,  spend time with family and enjoy the weather, walking outdoors with Polly. We spent everyday outdoors and took picnics with us everywhere we went, discovering new footpaths and taking endless photographs. Perfection. Cheap as chips too.

Since moving to the other side of the Valley we’ve found so many more walks. We can’t help but feel lucky and thankful for having Polly in our life, making sure we get to explore this gorgeous Valley. If you’re looking to book a walking holiday in the UK I can’t recommend Calderdale enough. If you’re thinking about getting a dog too, don’t wait!

The rest of the holiday was spent indoors catching up on housework that I’d ignored for the past week/s. You know how it is.

It wasn’t all bad though. We put up our new Rattan Pendant Shades c/o Iconic Lights into the hallway to smarten it up slightly. The woven balls have replaced the paper lantern shades and it’s already made the space feel brighter. They’re available in different colours and sizes too if you’re looking to add a bold accent colour in your home.

I’m trying to keep the office as organised as I can especially now that I’m doing my Creative Writing diploma. I thrive off a tidy environment but I’m naturally lazy and don’t put things back in their place. Must do better. Our latest addition to the office is an Multidrawer Cabinet c/o Bisley which I love. The neat and stylish design is a great fit for our new-look office and it stops my desk filling up with paperwork too.

Finally, dotted all over the house are these succulents sent to us by Flowercard in a keepsake tin with a greeting on – such a great idea for gifting the green-fingered folk in your life. I always think plants are the best gifts to give, especially the difficult-to-buy for. I picked up these teracotta plant pots from a local florist for £2 each by the way; I love the simplicity of a terracotta pot!

What did you get up to this weekend?
