Wardrobe Details: Navy, Stripes & Metallic

The other week I went shopping with a friend. Standard activity for a lot of folks I know, but I rarely go window shopping nowadays, only if  I really need something. Living and working in Hebden Bridge means I don’t get out that much, as well as having a demanding pup that hates to be left on her lonesome (I don’t blame her really).

After a pretty naff week all I wanted was a morning/afternoon spent window shopping, drinking coffee and collecting brochures (I’m obsessed with marketing materials for research!); it did me the world of good. A good chat with an old friend always does the trick, don’t you find?

I bought culottes, black joggers/lightweight trousers (another outfit post!), cute socks, drank coffee and ate a New York style bagel I’m still ‘oohing’ over. And it was on the train going to Leeds that I decided I needed to book a hair appointment too. But back to those culottes…
I can’t stop wearing them! They’re the floaty kind so are perfect on warm sunny days teamed with flats and a casual top. Great for work and for play. I chose a navy pair (I think they were £10) but I really liked the grey and khaki versions too. Oh, and they have pockets. SOLD!

As for the hair I decided to go for a ‘trim’ which turned into a completely new ‘do’. My hairdresser was pretty persuasive and I was in ‘do what you want’ mood. Hence the long bob, or whatever folks call it. I’m just about getting used to it, but as always, Circle of Friends in Hebden Bridge does a great cut. Yay!

Been enjoying the sunshine lately? What’s been your go-to spring outfit?
