I love any excuse to celebrate. Got a new job? Let’s buy fizz. Won a tenner on the lottery? Do a little dance. Managed to survive a crappy day at work? Drink, eat, and shake all those pom poms!

More than ever I’m looking to celebrate the important things in my life, big and small, so today we’re looking at party decor and balloons. Whether it’s a big occasion or you simply want to cheer someone up (balloons make every thing better – Polly loves them especially), then take a gander at these creative ideas to give you some inspiration (sources under each photograph).

First up (above), the fantastic The House That Lars Built created this bright and cheerful balloon wall. A BALLOON WALL. How amazing is this?

This garland reminded me how much pink and green complement each other (runs to wardrobe). Mixing foliage, a cheaper alternative to blooms, is a genius move. Adding gold tassels makes it perfection. This would look particularly awesome for a wedding, anniversary or engagement do.

If you’re lacking in time on the DIY front but want to make an impact, then why not purchase large letter balloons and create your own personal message.

I love the idea of attaching helium filled balloons to gift boxes. A great idea for hen do’s so your pals get to take a balloon home too (not just for kids!). Fill the boxes with unique favours including wildflower seeds from Not on the High Street, booze filled miniatures from Just Miniatures or temporary tattoos (Etsy has lots)!

I LOVE this. Those colours! That leaf print! Perfect for a garden party celebration.

Get creative with pipe cleaners and create affordable gifts for the rather grand folk in your life. I really need to buy some helium…

What are you celebrating this week?
