Postcards from Australia #1

image

We’ve been in Australia now for 7 days and I can’t remember a holiday I’ve enjoyed so much. We’ve filled our days with lots of goodness but have had plenty of time to relax too, especially in the evenings while our bodies are still getting used to being on Australian time. It’s obvious now how much I needed a proper holiday, so I’m hoping when we return I’ll feel revitalised and ready for summer in the UK.

It’s the simplest things, like being surrounded by an entirely different landscape, peeking at the ocean through the cracks on a jetty, and drinking my morning brew out on the day bed in front of the pool. I’m appreciating every single moment of it.

We’ve seen pelicans, stingrays, kangaroos, dolphins and all types of birds on our travels so far. We’ve been sea fishing, visited wineries, spent days on beaches, walked on a 2km Jetty and had picnic after picnic in the sunshine. I’ve also been bitten to an inch of my life by pesky midges but they will not break me! Must. Stop. Itching.

I’ve been loving wearing summer outfits too (I’m usually a winter outfit type of gal) and have been practically living out of my jean shorts during the day. Even when the temperature drops I’ve just been covering up with my trusty denim jacket and stepping out in my white canvas pumps c/o New Look for a more casual look. Denim paired with bright colour makes a great summery outfit, and I love the colour of my new skirt (skirt and top from Primark) – green is definitely a new hue I’d like to see in my wardrobe more.

More Australia fun coming soon once I sort through the photographs!
