Yesterday I began writing my to do list. But this list was extra special as it’s a ‘things I need to do before our holiday’ list. These are the best kind, because at the end of it is a big fat juicy sunshine-filled reward as in less than two weeks we’re off on our jollies for lots of beach/vineyard/pool fun in Australia. I am beyond excited.

I have to be honest, it’s sneaked up on us so quickly, so I’m a tad disorganised. Work/blog/roller derby/Polly/family stuff has taken over and suddenly I’m looking at my diary with only 11 days to go till we fly across the globe. Not a bad problem to have of course, but needless to say I need to get a shifty on, and start planning.

Wardrobe wise, I’m in a kerfuffle as I don’t really ‘do’ summer clothing or maybe I’ve just not found my summer-style yet. The best I come up with during the UK summer is cropped trousers and a striped t-shirt but Australia is very different in climate so I need to have some other options.

Introducing culottes, for evenings and day’s spent pottering around vineyards and drinking in the sunshine. They’re versatile, breezy and comfortable, and great for back home too.

The plan is to go shopping this weekend and hopefully I’ll find a pair that fits and suits (things I love usually don’t suit me – meh). I love this neutral offering teamed with denim, stripes or white for a laid back look during the day. But as culottes are so versatile, simply swap your footwear for a pair of heels for the perfect night-time outfit. I love how they suit flat shoes though, as that’s all I ever wear – apart from my red Lotta From Stockholm clogs which will peachy with culottes too!

Back in the UK, I’m hoping I’ll get away with wearing them teamed with a leather jacket and trainers. I just really hope they suit me! I’ll be doing a few summer outfit posts while out in Australia, so I’ll keep you posted.
