Wardrobe Details: Park Life

lifestyle blogger

This is the winter I love and know so well. It’s only taken FOREVER to get here. Hmm. I have a feeling it won’t last so I’m holding on tight to these crisp, bitter days and hoping these clear skies show us some sunshine too. Not letting go, my friends, not letting go.

We haven’t visited the park since the flooding as pretty much everywhere was contaminated (we didn’t want to take Polly anywhere her paws could pick up nasties). In the past week I’ve seen lots of dog walkers from the hills (I’ve been spying on the park!) so we thought we’d check out our lovely park, fuelled with cappuccino and my cheery Joules Wellies.

I love this park (Leslie Knope, eat your heart out) and now I know I took it for granted. Enjoying coffee and cake with friends at Park Life Cafe (sadly flooded – but will be back!), pottering around the field at the vintage car weekend to walking Polly, skating with my partner in roller derby crime and playing in the sunshine with my sister, niece and nephew. It’s a great space and I can’t wait to enjoy it again soon. Sunshine, you are very welcome too.

Outfit wise, I’ve been living in my Joules wellies ever since they arrived just before Christmas. For walking Polly, they’re cheery and practical; for post-flood cleaning up they were essential. Just like a good winter hat, that covers all manner of hair sins, these colourful wellies are great for adding a touch of personality to outdoor outfits. Joules, you’re all kinds of great.

If you would like to help Hebden Bridge and other towns and villages affected by the December floods please take a look here, here and here!

Now excuse me while I go and binge-watch Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope quotes – GO!
