Books To Read

book wish listFrom left to right: Spectacles by Sue Perkins | The Bees by Laline Paull | Yuki Chan in Bronte Country by Mick Jackson (released in Jan) | Wildflower by Drew Barrymore | Kate: Inside The Rainbow by John Carder Bush | Hunger Makes me a Modern Girl by Carrie Brownstein | The Life Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo | We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson

Like most people I’ve been glued to the news this week, and in need of some cheering up I thought I’d look to some inspiring reads to add to my Christmas list. My wish list mainly consists of new kit for roller derby but there’s a long list of books I’ve wanted to read for some time too, including memoirs and photography to lifestyle and fiction. Having two weeks off at Christmas (counting down!) means I’ll actually have the chance to read them too. Go figure.

What’s on your reading list? Have you read any of the above?

Ohhh thanks hun! I’m setting myself a plan to read a book a month next year, so need all the inspiration for reads I can get. Spectacles is already on my list, love her. 🙂

Marie Kondo’s ‘Life-changing magic…’ is a lovely read, whether you decide to follow her advice or not! She has a sweet strictness about her and her words read like a glint in the eye, shiny and bright and just a little bit cheeky. She prompted 8 bags of what-not out of my groaning cupboards in one fell swoop and I keep going when I have time. Also, you genuinely start to fully appreciate what you already have and I began to feel quite resistant towards bringing new guff into my home. Gently thought-provoking stuff – the best way to feel motivated, in my book!
Lisa, would you ever consider a kind of online book group for any of these titles?
