Jollydays Glamping Part Two

Bell Tents

Our second and final day on camp was pretty darn nifty. After breakfast we had a lazy morning pottering around camp, listening to the wildlife and taking photographs. I took the time to eye up some more of the other tents, and fell in love with this one. Look at the little chimney! Perhaps for our next adventure?

Tree swing

The tree swing was a massive hit with yours truly. Hebden Bridge folk, have you seen any in woods nearby?

Staley Bridge

I couldn’t stop looking up throughout camp; it felt like the birds in the trees were singing just for us.

Inside the reception area is a small shop where you can buy extra wood, candles and other supplies (including wine and craft beers!). Anything that you use you simply note in the honesty book and settle up at the end; such a great idea so you can just go about your holiday. There’s also a tea tent where you can brew up, treat yourself to a slice of cake and charge your phone. Across from here you’ll find the communal camp fire and pizza oven, which we didn’t get a chance to use, but it looked pretty lit up in the evening. Don’t forget the marshmallows!

Opposite the tea tent is a beautiful circular pond walk (I brought home a couple of souvenir pine cones) which is perfect for an evening stroll. P.S Keep your eyes peeled for hares and other wildlife.

Later in the day we went for another walk to Stamford Bridge for a coconut and chocolate ice cream from Temptations Ice Cream Parlour. As the weather was on our side we popped for a couple of drinks in a sunny beer garden, with a friendly cat for company. It really is a pretty village. It was one of those blissful days where we purposefully did nothing much and enjoyed every moment.

Tempted yet?  If you simply need some space and time to just be, then I wholeheartedly recommend a trip to Jollydays. I would recommend going for a week break and if you prefer to break up some of your days try day trips to York or Whitby which are close by. We will be back!

Disclosure: Our stay at Jollydays was complimentary for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own.
