Lately: Sunshine, Planning and Accessories

Achica

In less than two weeks we’ll be heading to Worthy Farm, home of Glastonbury Festival. I apologise if I keep on going on about this, but those who know me well know how much I love those Somerset fields. Plus we’ve booked time off after the festival so we can relax (and recover) back at home for another week. That’s 14 days off people. FOURTEEN DAYS. And breathe.

In the run up to our holiday, my to do list is bloody ridiculous. From writing newsletters and designing flyers to writing articles, proofing websites and social media planning; there’s quite a lot to do. Plus I need to write a presentation, oh and finish building a website. Breathe Lisa. The thing is, even when you love what you do (and I do) it’s incredibly hard work, probably more so, because you care so much about the job(s) that you do.  I’ll stop moaning now, I’m just rather overwhelmed. Gin and tonic, anyone?

Anyhoo, here’s a few recent happy highlights non work related…

Sweet Williams

Picking up a bunch of Sweet Williams for just £1.50 then splitting them into jam jars for every room in the house. Go and treat yourself to a bunch, they last for ages and smell gorgeous!

Hebden Bridge

Sunshine! OK, I won’t talk weather for too long but I can’t help but feel happy when there are blue skies and the trees come to life, all lush and green. Long may it continue!

Leeds Art Gallery

Spending some quality time to myself in Leeds Art Gallery. One thing I miss about living in London is the free museums and galleries. There’s been so many exhibitions I’ve missed because I can’t get down to London (or can’t afford!) enough. I’ll have to concentrate on Manchester and Leeds instead.

Daisies

Seeing flowers everywhere I go. Since we moved house I’ve started making a mental note of all the plants I love and want in our patio. Now, I just need to learn how to be a better gardener!

Handbag Butler
My new favourite accessory! Say hello to my Handbag Butler Mighty Purse c/o Achica. Not only is it a gorgeous cheery yellow purse made from genuine leather, it has an in-built battery which can charge your mobile phone up to two charges! It’s the best thing EVER. I use it as an everyday purse and when I’m out and about I don’t need to worry about running out of battery. Perfect for peace of mind if you use your phone for work (or if you’re an Instagram addict!).

Home

Tea. Book. Duvet. I need more of this in my life.

Positive things to do

It’s been so great seeing you lovely folk sharing the #sharethepositive tag on Instagram. Keep on tagging your positive photographs and moments and I’ll feature my favourites on the blog very soon.

Ruby

This girl and her brother. Last weekend was my sister, niece and nephew’s birthdays! I can’t believe how quickly they are growing up and just how awesome they both are, in very different ways. I’m very lucky to have these little people in my life. Plus, look at that face!

New Balance

I’m practically living in my New Balance kicks these days. My feet are still poorly after dancing on them non-stop a few weeks ago but to be honest I’d be wearing them anyhoo. I love it when you find clothing/shoes that suit and make you feel great!

What have you been up to lately?

P.S I promise no more moaning about my to do list…
