Lately: Salts Mill Saltaire
Last week I headed over to one of my old haunts, the rather splendid Salts Mill. Anyone who lives in Yorkshire holds this special place close to their heart, so I was really excited to visit again but this time with the peachy Kathryn from Kat Got The Cream.
I grew up in the neighbouring town of Bingley and spent lots of my Sundays here as a 16-18 year old; walking to Salts Mill via the canal to visit the Hockney exhibitions, pick up arty postcards and drink cappuccino! Oh and it’s where I first fell in love with the scent of lilies (the gallery is filled with them).
Unfortunately The Arrival of Spring Exhibition by David Hockney wasn’t open the day we visited (poor planning!) so instead we ventured to Salts Diner, put the world to rights over breakfast then pottered in the shopping hall area. Here’s a few photographs of the lovely space (it’s great for photographs!).
I’ll be back for the exhibition very soon! Have you been to Salts Mill?

Yes! We were here on Saturday for the Saltaire Arts Trail! And I bought that very copy of ‘Flow’! Lovely place! Speaking of Bingley, yesterday we went to St. Ives for a woodland walk – another lovely place! Yorkshire spoils us!
