At Home: Plant Life

home

As I’m writing this the snow outside is busy causing magical mayhem. So far this January we’ve only had the slushy stuff that’s never really settled, but overnight a winter wonderland has appeared and it doesn’t seem to be letting up, hurrah!

When its snowy, wet and windy outside, gardens are pretty hard to care for (for amateurs like me) so it’s the perfect time to introduce house plants in your home to bring some nature indoors. They’re also much better value for money than flowers (although I’m a sucker for them too).

A couple of weeks ago, we headed to our local garden centre with my Christmas money in hand and went straight to the house plant section, past the unchosen Christmas trees (aw).

I came away with a bounty of plants for our home including Cacti, Monstera, Aphelandra, Dracaena, Joseph’s Coat and a couple of others. How long will I be able to keep them alive though, I wonder?

I’m aiming to get some house plants this year. Hopefully we will get some in the next month. I want to have some living things in the home (other than me and Mr Mac)
