My Style

It’s comforting to realise that at the grand old age of 34, I know my shape, the colours that suit me and more importantly the clothes that make me happy. About time, eh? So today I’m collaborating with one of my favourite high street retailers, New Look, and sharing clothes that make up my style.

My wardrobe is filled with similar items to those below; jeans, slim length trousers, striped tops, chunky knits, mid length dresses and skirts, not forgetting my faithful dungarees! I love brogues, ankle boots, loafers and ballet pumps and for weekend adventures my favourite Converse and New Balance trainers. No heels here, my friends.

Colour wise, red, black and blue are the colours that suit my pale skin, dark hair and blue eyes and luckily these are my favourite hues too.

My Style

Slim Leg Trousers (£19.99) | Dungarees (£26.99) | Skinny Jeans (£19.99) | Midi Skirt (£19.99) | Shirt Dress (£24.99) | Midi Skirt (£19.99) | Paris Sweater (£9.99) | Red Top (£5) | Stripe Jumper (£17.99) | Chelsea Boots (£24.99) | Leather Brogues (£27.99) | Pointed Pumps (£17.99)

Do you have a similar style? I think your wardrobe depends a lot on your lifestyle and now I work 3 days a week from home my dungarees, jeans and a faithful sweater play a starring role. When I work at the office I wear mainly black dresses (my mid length long sleeve knit dress is a favourite) but I also wear the same when going out, so I don’t really feel I have a work wardrobe anymore, just the clothes I wear to day to day.

Take a look at the New Look dress right campaign (this link’s for the men in your life!) to help you find your happy style.

P.S Are you in the dungaree camp?

Love dungarees but not buying some this year as am trying to spend less money. Ugh. My style is evolving.

On Monday one of my friends accused me of looking very “London” in my cut offs, hoody and baseball cap and stuck on Lapdance by N*E*R*D as apparently that suited my look! I think he does not know what London really looks like. But I do love hats. And hoodies at the moment too!

I love your kinda French, indie tinged style Lisa.

It’s funny isn’t it, how we go through phases before we find what is ‘us’? I spent my early 20s in punk kid clothes, my late 20s feeling like I had to dress ‘like a grown up woman’ and now, in my 30s have realised that an amalgamation of the two is what I like. I favour short-ish floaty skirts or dresses, with tights and converse or biker boots. band t-shirts,Chunky cardigans, biker jackets, statement necklaces and ALWAYS a scarf.
