At Home: Attic Bedroom Inspiration

When you move house EVERYTHING takes longer than you think to unpack and organise. Mainly due to lack of motivation after experiencing stress for a long period of time but mostly because of laziness. I admit, I’ve had to be persuaded to sort things out over the past week or so. I can’t help it folks, I’m craving nights on the sofa so much right now!

After a lot of persuasion and effort we started on the attic bedroom. I can officially announce we have built our new bed, have painted the bedroom walls and now have a designated laundry basket in our bedroom. We’re living like proper human beings, my friends!

Our attic bedroom is a pretty big space with high ceilings, skylight and large window; I’m not being smug, I’m honestly writing this still living in denial that this house is ours. It’s not a mansion, don’t get me wrong, but when you’ve moved out of a one bedroom underwelling, a house that you can swing a cat in is an absolute dream and I’m grateful for every single inch.

So, in an attempt to make the room more homely, rather than just fill it with stuff, I thought I’d head to Pinterest for ideas. Besides wanting a projector and hammock in there (THIS WILL HAPPEN) I headed straight to Pinterest for inspiration to make it more cosy.

Le sigh | A large rug is definitely needed in our room for cold winter mornings | For safety, this built-in ladder that sits below your window is a must. I really should have ordered one of these before buying my new New Balance trainers. Ahem.

Attic Bedroom Ideas

Above: Large ceilings call for large pieces of art work – oh the possibilities! |Similar to the top right photograph, we painted a couple of walls this weekend, it’s made all the difference. I love the rustic table in that picture too | Beautiful beams! Ours are all painted white which I really like but I do love the natural look too| Ensuite-sweetness.

Do you have any attic bedroom decor ideas?

P.S No cats were hurt in this post.
