Photo Walk: Haworth 1940s Weekend
Our day trip to Haworth at the weekend started with great intentions; my back was feeling a little better, we had a few treats in the fridge to take to the park and it was Haworth’s annual 1940s Weekend.
We were promised streets adorned with bunting, music, and cobbles filled with lovely folk dressed in all their vintage finery, tea dresses and uniforms. Ideal opportunity for a photo walk? Uh huh.
What we weren’t prepared for was the VAST amount of people that were there. It was lovely to see Haworth’s businesses thriving but it meant we couldn’t get a seat/get served/draw cash out or go to the loo without waiting a loooong time. Next time I’m going to bring ALL OF THE SUPPLIES!
On this photo walk I learnt I need to be more comfortable in front of the camera, not to be scared to ask folk to be photographed and to shoot with intention!

I love Haworth 1940’s weekend! Last we went it was chucking down with rain all day but still loads of people! Loving the photo walks idea… Something I do when pushing the little one in the buggy as it’s the only time I can use both hands!
Been reading your blog for a while now and it’s always a lovely drop of positivity – thanks!

Oh my gosh, I think I’d die and go to heaven – Haworth *and* 1940’s in one go? Wow! Is it a yearly event?

Someone else I know was there and it looks like such a great, GREAT weekend. Your photos are splendid too. Hopefully will see if we can go next year (and bring all the supplies now we know – top tip!)

Beautiful pictures 🙂 I’ve heard Haworth can get get very busy for the 1940s weekend, you need to buy one of the wicker baskets so you can pack a big picnic for the event 🙂
