A Fine Day Out: Wentbridge House, West Yorkshire

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to Wentbridge House, an independently owned Georgian hotel, restaurant and brasserie in lovely ol’ West Yorkshire. You all know how much I like a good potter and it turned out to be a pretty fine day, meeting bloggers, the hotel’s lovely staff and of course Mr. Sunshine. That’s right, SUNSHINE! We started the afternoon with a chat from Farrow and Ball, followed by a three course lunch in the hotel’s Crystal Room and a tour around the hotel and its grounds. Quite frankly, a lovely way to spend an afternoon on your day off!

5 things I learnt and loved from the day:

  • The hotel is dog friendly. This is a big plus in my eyes (and I don’t have a dog). I just think it shows how much they care and cater for all of their customers needs.
  • Each room has been carefully styled and decorated in-house. With so much attention to detail, each room looks and feels unique; the perfect mix of traditional and contemporary design (and frequently plumped pillows!).
  • The hotel stocks Elemis products in each room, which are also available to purchase. So whilst you’re sharing an Afternoon Tea at the Fleur De Lys restaurant with a buddy, you can also treat yourself to a few new goodies for your toiletry bag.
  • If you dig pretty lawns, great food and customer service then Wentbridge House makes an ideal wedding venue. The folly in the grounds makes a practically perfect place to say ‘I do’, especially on a sunny day in June!
  • Finally, I learnt that blogging events are fun and I will be definitely be attending more; it’s a refreshing change to be amongst like-minded people who take pictures of their feet, lunch and Roberts digital radios!

Have you had a fine day out lately?
