Hebden Bridge

Illustration Thursday – Robinson

A while ago I went on a wee shopping trip to Manchester and came home with a new suitcase, a dress, a pair of brogues and a book for Boy Boo. When I returned home to give him his present, he told me how he had bookmarked a link of the same book and how he was going to buy it for me, great minds!

The book is New York, Line by Line: From Broadway to the Battery by Robinson (Werner Kruse). Originally produced in 1967, and called ‘New York’, It shows New York skylines, buildings and it’s people in immense detail and gives you wonderful insight into New York and its delights. It was then reissued in 2009 and is as current as ever.

Besides the astounding illustrations of the buildings and skylines, it’s all about the detail for me. Each person is different, and he captures them perfectly. I think my favourite is the kissing couple in Grand Central Station. See if you can spot them ♥
